Autumn in Perthshire
As this season draws to a close, one of the highlights in this part of Scotland are the Autumn colours.. Compared to other parts of the UK, Highland Perthshire have a lot of forests, and from around October onwards the colours rapidly begin to change across the landscape.
The views during our bike tours that start and finish in Perth in Autumn are worth a special mention, simply because the viewing window from green leaves, to falling leaves, to no leaves totally transforms the view within the space of several weeks.. so that by the time the winter clock kicks in towards the end of October, many shades of green from the spring and summer months have disappeared for the year.
Autumn Views v Summer views.. For comparison, a photo taken during the summer months here in Highland Perthshire at the exact same location during one of our bike tours from Perth can be viewed in a previous blog post from 22nd
July;

The main photo near the top of this blog of Kinnoull Hill was taken on 20th October.. the photo below is from the exact same hill taken on 24th October. The Autumn colours within the space of just 4 days..
