Today in Glasgow at the UCI World Championships, Mathieu van der Poel (NL) won the road race to become the new World Champion!

The Flying Dutchman launched his solo attack today with around 22km to go, during the climb up Montrose Street of all places, and left the other riders behind in devastating fashion! By the time he crossed the finish line he was about 1 minute and 30 seconds ahead of the chasers.. congratulations/gefeliciteerd Mathieu!

And while we are talking about a current Dutch cycling legend, lets also not forget that back in February of this year Mathieu van der Poel was also crowned UCI World Champion in the Cyclo-Cross event.. for the fifth time!!
